In the small hours the white Lull Chenille Rocking Armchair is the only seat in the house being used. It is a wingback in soft chenille on rubberwood runners, with nothing flat underneath it — which means that when the room gets rearranged, this chair is lifted rather than pushed.
The seat is 42cm from the floor, and that is low enough that getting out of it starts with a shift forward; if you can come straight up out of a dining chair, you will not do that here. On a rocker that shift is also what sets the chair moving under you, and it arrives at the one moment you are holding something you would rather not drop.
