The back is the part to check: it rises 32cm above the seat, so it takes your lower and mid back and stops there. Sit on a dining chair, measure from the seat up to the top of your shoulder, and you will know straight away whether your shoulders clear the top of this one.

That makes it an occasional chair in the literal sense: a seat by a window, beside a bed, at the end of a room where someone sits for a while and then gets up. It is 45.5cm off the floor, close to dining-chair height, so getting out of it is not a production.
