The base is the part you notice first: a metal disc on the floor, no legs at all, and it turns. Above it the Arcus Velvet Armchair is light khaki velvet with a back that opens outwards as it rises, and it ends up at the far end of a lounge, out from the wall once the sofa has taken the long side of the room.
The floor cost is 79cm front to back, and a good stretch of that is not seat at all: the seat stops well short of where the chair does, and the rest is back and base. What the depth buys is the shape of the thing and a seat that turns on the spot, not more room to sit in.
Where floor is the scarce thing, the Aven Boucle Armchair - White needs 13cm less of it front to back, and gives up only a few centimetres of seat depth.
