The Comfort Plush Gel Memory Foam Topper in Single is 90cm x 190cm, 6.4kg, cut to a standard NZ Single. Made for a child out of a toddler bed, a spare room, or a caravan bunk.
It is 8cm of gel memory foam at 40kg/m³ — deep, and formulated on the soft side. That density figure is how much foam is in it, not what makes it soft. Built for a mattress that still supports your back but has gone hard on the surface, the kind you wake from with a sore hip or shoulder. It will not fix a mattress that sags in the middle; nothing you put on top of one will.
Firm underneath, soft on top — that pairing is the point. A randomised trial of 313 adults with chronic lower back pain (The Lancet, 2003) found the medium-firm group had roughly double the odds of improving; a 2015 systematic review (Radwan et al., Sleep Health) reached a compatible conclusion. Neither study tested a topper, and both looked at people who already had back pain — we are not claiming this treats anything. What they tell you is which direction to move a bed that is too hard. Hotels build the same way on purpose: a supportive mattress with a soft layer over it. If your bed holds you up but is punishing to lie on, you already own the harder half of that pair.
The cover is bamboo fabric and unzips on three sides, so it washes separately from the foam. A cool wash removes most dust-mite allergen; killing the mites takes 55°C, which most home machines will not reach. Non-slip base. Cut to New Zealand bed sizes.
