Nobody sits square in this one for long. The Eno Velvet Armchair - Green is broad and low, finished in green velvet, with a back that stops not much above the seat. It is the chair that ends up in a bedroom corner — the one people drop into rather than sit down on.
The cushion tops out at 50cm, which is high for a chair carrying this little back. At that height most adults sit with their feet flat and their weight forward rather than tipped into the seat, and there is nothing tall behind them to take that weight. Upright is a posture you hold yourself here; the chair stops asking for effort once your feet come up onto it.
Read upright in it all evening and you will notice the back that is not there. The Windsor Linen Armchair puts the cushion at the same height and has one.
