It goes where the evening happens — facing the television, or turned away from it when somebody else has the remote.
Whatever stands behind this chair is part of the deal. Let the back down and the whole 50cm of it swings backwards, out over floor the star base never stands on. Turning does not get you out of that, because the back goes wherever the seat points. Out in the room, any direction works; flat against a wall, the back becomes a setting you stop using.
